<p class="Paragraph">The sections in text documents mark off blocks of text for special purposes.</p>
<p class="Paragraph">Thus there are the following areas:</p>

<p class="Paragraph">A section always consists of at least one paragraph. <text:s text:c="" xmlns:text="http://openoffice.org/2000/text"/>When you select a text and define it as a section, it is automatically ended with a paragraph break.</p>
<p class="Paragraph">You can insert another text document as a section within a text document. A section from another text document can also be inserted as a section. Sections within a single document can also be linked to other locations.</p>
<p class="Paragraph">To insert a new paragraph immediately before or after a section, place the cursor at the very beginning or end of the section and press <help:switch select="System" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"><help:case select="MAC">Option</help:case><help:default>Alt</help:default></help:switch>+Enter.</p>
<p class="Head2">Sections and Columns</p>

<p class="P7"><span class="T1">Multicolumn section: </span>A section can contain other sections. This feature allows you, for example, to create a two-column section on a page of text, and then create a three-column section within that section.</p>

<p class="P8"><span class="T1">Multicolumn page: </span>The page format (<span class="T1">Format - Page - Columns</span>), which always applies to all pages with the current Page Style, is independent of the sections.</p>

<p class="P9"><span class="T1">Multicolumn frame: </span>You can also insert frames containing columns of text which you can move freely around the page (from main toolbar, long-click to open <span class="T1">Insert</span> floating toolbar, click <span class="T1">Insert frame</span> icon). For these frames, for example, you can select that the text in the frame be positioned a certain distance from the edge of the frame (Choose <span class="T1">Format - Frame - Wrap</span>).</p>
